About Trevanna Entertainment
CARL FREED
For great talent to prosper it needs good businesspeople -- and that's
where Carl Freed comes in. For more than a decade Freed helped to grow
and shepherd the concert-promotion division of Metropolitan Entertainment
as senior vice-president of business development. Among his many coups,
he secured an exclusive 25-year agreement with The Hammerstein Ballroom,
leaving an indelible mark on the live music scene in New York. Other
accomplishments include producing the Backstreet Boys' first-ever U.S.
arena/amphitheater tour in 1998; establishing a corporate entertainment
division for the company; and developing hip-hop partnerships,
which culminated in the Dream Team and the successful "Up In Smoke"
tours (featuring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Warren G, and Eminem.)
Freed also negotiated the largest webcast contract in history for
Woodstock 1999 and led Metropolitan into the digital age by creating
and overseeing www.concerthotline.com.
In December of 2002, Carl started his own company, Trevanna Entertainment, a boutique consulting firm specializing in hands-on services for live musical events. For the past eight years Trevanna has produced Hot 97's Summer Jam at Giants Stadium-the largest-grossing hip-hop show ever, thanks to such artists as 50 Cent, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Nas, Eminem and Drake. Building on the success of that show and his relationship with New York's premiere hip-hop radio station, he's now considered the go-to promoter for high-profile urban acts in town (see: Jay-Z's upcoming shows at Carnegie Hall in February). From 2003 to 2007, Trevanna partnered with Spa records to create AVE (Alternative Venue Entertainment), a venture that brought a never-before-seen concert tour to summer sleep-away camps. More recently, Trevanna has signed on to produce all of Sirius XM's listener appreciation events (including Paul McCartney at the Apollo and Tim McGraw at the Beacon Theater); as well as the successful week-long "5 Borough Tour" for Red Bull -- a concert series of beloved hip-hop acts (Wu-Tang Clan and Mobb Deep among them) reuniting to perform a classic album in the borough where they originated.
GUSTAV HENINGBURG II
A pioneer in event production services specializing in the entertainment
and sports market, Gustav "Gus" Heningburg II has been production
manager for Trevanna Entertainment for almost 10 years. Regardless
of scale or scope, he approaches each event with a hands-on,
"no excuses" approach. For over twenty-five years Gus has been
producing live concerts, special events, awards shows and charity
events in the U.S. and overseas including Jamaica, London, Monaco,
and Scotland. His knowledge and expertise both on the technical
level and the more intangible elements of concert production is
time-tested, seasoned and first-rate.
In 1996 Gus opened the doors to his own event production company, Bodie Entertainment (now a subsidiary of Trevanna), which since has conducted production and stage management for Jaheim, Sugar Ray, The Ramones, Joan Jett and Clash. A few of his notable clients are Vibe Magazine, for which he has been the official event producer since 1993; Revlon Run's "Walk Against Breast Cancer"; and the New York Yankees' Groundbreaking Ceremony.
KEITH MALONE
Keith cut his production teeth in the New York documentary world
producing films for HBO, ESPN and PBS. But his first love, music,
drew him in and he's now happy to be entrenched in concert production.
When he's not scoring films or singing in his band, he's side-by-side
with Carl at the front of house helping Trevanna be the best
production team in New York.
